Bio
And so there was funk
This is Zenzi
Based out of St. Petersburg
Florida, a 10 piece funk
powerhouse is quickly gaining
recognition. The band is
composed of members from some
of the bay area’s best Jam
Bands and has been described as
a Funk Voltron as well as St. Pete’s
own version of Turkuaz.
While the band is in their early
stages, they’ve already begun
making their mark with
appearances at Whippersnap
Music & Arts Festival 2026 and
back to back sold out
performances at the Dunedin
Brewery (Moontower Stage) and
Crowbar.
Their sound can be described as…
huge. 2 guitars, bass, drums,
auxiliary percussion, keys, sax,
trumpet, trombone and
powerhouse vocals supported by
3 members sharing lead vocal
duties and offering 4 part
harmonies.
Influenced heavily by the sounds
of old & new school funk / rock
artists, the band is rapidly adding
original music while also
performing an eclectic mix of
covers that range from The
Meters, Chicago, Tower of Power,
Galactic, Lettuce, Heart, David
Bowie, Curtis Mayfield, Little Feat,
Aretha Franklin and more.
The band has plans to record their
first studio album in early 2027.
